AIIMS Counselling Important dates and Procedure

This year, AIIMS MBBS 2018 exam was held across two days, ie. May 26 and 27, 2018, with two shifts being conducted on each day. The result of AIIMS MBBS was declared on June 18, 2018.  Counselling is the next step for qualifying candidates just after the declaration of result. AIIMS MBBS 2018 Counselling will begin after the declaration of result of AIIMS MBBS. AIIMS New Delhi has published a roll number wise and rank wise list of candidates qualified for first round of counselling of AIIMS MBBS 2018. The counselling will be held in three rounds, followed by AIIMS MBBS 2018 open round of counselling. Number of candidates equal to four times the total number of seats will be called for first counselling round. However, all the candidates who will qualify AIIMS MBBS entrance by scoring a minimum of AIIMS MBBS cutoff 2018 (as per notification), will be eligible to participate in open counselling of AIIMS MBBS 2018.

AIIMS New Delhi, is going to conduct online counselling for the first time. Mock Counselling is also introduced for the first time. Mock Counselling is nothing but to introduce the counselling procedure to the students. So that students may know about the procedure, probable college where they may get admission. To participate in the first round of Counselling it is mandatory to register for the mock round counselling, which was started on 23rd June 2018. Online AIIMS MBBS counselling 2018 will likely be held in four rounds, namely first, second, third online counselling rounds, followed by an open round counselling.

Procedure :-

  1. Registration for Counselling
  2. Fill the Choice Preferences
  3. Editing and Final Submission of Choices
  4. Seat Allotment Result
  5. Reporting to the allotted seat - Acceptance or Rejection

What to do after Seat Allotment Result:- 

After the seat allotment result students can take following action:-

  1. Accept the Seat - Students who get the seat he has to report to the allotted college if he/she wants to get admission in the allotted college.
  2. Refuse the Seat - If students don't want to get admission to the allotted college, he has to actively refuse the seat by logging into their portal and refuse the seat within the stipulated time.
  3. Hold the allotted seat - If student wishes to hold the allotted seat, he has to report to the allotted college, and need to deposit the fee and documents at the allotted AIIMS, and also express his/her desire to paticipate in other counselling rounds. 
  4. Fail to take any action - If the student couldn't take any action, neither report to the college nor actively refuse/accept the seat, such candidates will not be eligible for further round of counselling.
