NEET 2019 will be held Twice by NTA

Here is a breaking news for you. Maximum NEET aspirants are confused about conduction of NEET 2019. When NEET 2019 will be held? Which agency will conduct NEET 2019? Is NEET going to be held twice in 2019? Is NTA going to conduct NEET 2019? These are the questions which are puzzling NEET aspirants again and again. These questions bothering every NEET aspirants from last 5-6 months. So I am going to clear all your doubts through this blog. 

First of all every NEET pirants must know what is NTA? In pursuance of the Budget Announcement 2017-18, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on November 10, 2017 approved creation of the NTA as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country. NTA is a National Testing Agency which will conduct all competitive exam i.e UGC NET, JEE MAINS and NEET. NTA will be replacing the competitive exam related functions of CBSE and will conduct NEET and JEE Mains twice this year.  NTA will also conduct UGC NET, CMAT and GPAT, later two were used to be held by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). So far, The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE has been organising National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on behalf of the Medical Council Of India and the Health Ministry and NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Now comes to the point whether NEET will be conducted by NTA ? Whether it will be held twice in a year or not. Today our education minister Shri Prakash Javadekar announced that NTA will conduct all the competitive exam i.e UGC NET, JEE MAINS and NEET for higher education in India from this year onwards. The Jee Mains and NEET will be held twice in a year. The same students can take the exam twice and the best score will be counted. Furthermore, he said that all examinations under the National Testing Agency will be computer-based. “Computer centres will be set up where students with no access to computers can practise from August-end or September.”

NEET would be conducted in Februrary and May. The detailed notification is yet to be released by the organisers, but it can be expected any time.

Important highlights of NEET 2019: -

  1. NEET 2019 will be conducted by NTA.
  2. NEET 2019 is going to be held twice in 2019 i.e in Februrary and May. Students can appear in both the exam in case they miss a chance or not satisfied with their performance. However sitting in both the exam is not compulsory.
  3. Best score in both the exam will be counted for merit list. 
  4. NEET 2019 will be a computer based exam. 
  5. The exams would be held over a span of four-five days and students would have the option of choosing the dates.
  6. There will be no change in the syllabus of the NEET exam. 
  7. The question papers each day will be different and may vary from candidate to candidate.

Dates of Examination 03-02-2019 to 17-02-2019
Declaration of Result Ist week of March 2019
B. May 2019 Exam  
Online Submission of application form  2nd week of March 2019
Dates of Examination 12-05-2019 to 26-05-2019
Declaration of Result first week of June 2019
